Sisyphus stalked into the land, his father trailing behind him. His prow was to the ground like a hound dog on the trail of its pray. When he finally felt the strong scent invading his prow he lifted himself into a noble pose and followed it like it was his one chance at survival. For two whole years he had busted his butt to protect his father and in that, he had to pile on himself. It wasn't an easy life he had, and he needed some where safe. And this was the place to find it
He saw his father slowing, his eyes going distant and glazed. Sisyphus knew what this meant and he went back to his father. He went behind Calchas and nudged his hind as a way of telling him to move on. His father rarely could travel without slipping in to his ever present dazes. It was starting to worry him, but he must never worry. His father was a strong 5 year old, he still had some fight in him. And no way was Sisyphus going to give up on him
It was the perfect place for Sisyphus, a lover of beauty. But so far there was no sign of the stallion that lead the Domain
Sisyphus decided to stay quiet for a little longer. To give his father some time to rest, but when he looked back he saw him having one of his spasms. Sisyphus hurried to his side and nudged him. It was probably the same thing, Apollo killing Sisyphus's mother and Sisyphus. It had been haunting his father for quiet a while. When his father emerged from the terrible spasm he was gasping for air like a fish out of water.
Sisyphus listened silently as his father told him all about the terrible vision he had. It wasn't the same as the guess Sisyphus had made, but it started out that way. Just as Sisyphus was killed in this nightmare, Artemis came and demanded what Apollo had done. But Apollo did not answer, he merely turned on his sister and killed her to. The sky turned red and the ground had rivers of blood. Mangled bodies everywhere, an evil laugh. And then Calchas woke up
Sisyphus nodded at his father, who was pleading to him to stay here and claim the land. They would be under Artemis's reign. Considering that she was the Fate of the South because the Fate of the North was Apollo, and he wanted to tip the balance of power. Sisyphus took his courage by the ribbons and reared up, throwing his head back and giving a powerful neigh. His flame-kissed spots shined like individual beacons in a dark world.
He slammed hard on the ice, emitting a large rumble with the echo it had made. In the ice were small dents from the hard stab of his pearly hooves. He took a noble pose with one hoof raised and his head high. The wind picked up and blew his mane back like a banner. It was a bit silly how he looked like a fable character and not a true equine. But Sisyphus was real. And he was real enough to want safety and happiness for his father and himself.
